West Africa- Summative Assessment

Create a Mandala

DIRECTIONS

Divide your circle into 5 sections. Use a ruler.

One section should be devoted to each of these areas.

· A Map of West Africa: Include vegetation zones.

· The influence of Islam on W. Africa: Include at least 3 ways daily life is influenced by Islam.

· The cultural legacy of West Africa: Choose one cultural legacy that you think is particularly interesting or important.

· Ghana as a Trading Empire: Show how trade in gold and salt led to the growth of Ghana and Mali.

· Early Societies in West. Africa: Illustrate the evolution of early societies.

Use words and pictures to convey your understanding of each of these topics. Be prepared to present your Mandala and give a thorough explanation of each section.
